Work Begins on New Luxury Hotel at Coushatta Casino Resort
The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its Coushatta Casino Resort, located near Kinder.
The ceremony took place on March 20, 2024, at 10 am and marked the beginning of the construction of a new eight-story hotel. In attendance were Chairman Jonathan Cernek and members of the Coushatta Tribal Council together with leading figures from TBE Architects, Yates Construction, and the Wenaha Group.
It was held at the Seven Clans statue, which is located in the Sculpture Garden by the Seven Clans Hotel. Attendees were treated to performances from Coushatta Tribal dancers and drummers, followed by cake-cutting.
Boosting Existing Capacity
The new Coushatta Casino Resort will house 204 rooms together with 100 suites. It will be linked to the casino floor, which will be just a few steps away. Once complete, the hotel will have more than 1,000 rooms and it will bring a number of new jobs for people in the area. The new hotel is expected to open in late 2025.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, tribal Chairman Jonathan Cernek said:
“As construction commences, we are excited about all the new venues and upgrades that we will be able to offer our guests, starting with this new hotel. Our goal is to offer our players an elevated gaming experience, and that includes top-quality lodgings and high-end dining options. The Coushatta Tribe is leading the way in building an unsurpassed resort destination, both in the local market and in the entire region.”
A Bustling Casino Floor
The Coushatta Casino Resort is already the largest in Louisiana. It offers visitors the choice of close to 2,000 slot machines, many of which are linked to ever-growing progressive jackpots.
Table game players, including lovers of baccarat, are equally well catered for. There are more than 55 table games on offer, including Mini-Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Cajun Stud, Let It Ride, 3-Card Poker and more. Those who want to bet big can visit the casino’s High Limit Area, ensuring players of all budgets are catered for.
The Mini-Baccarat tables offer the Dragon Bonus side bet, which allows players to wager on the winning margin. Impressively, the resort also offers a free-play online casino complete with online baccarat, including live dealer options, such as Lightning Baccarat.
There is more to discover in the Coushatta Casino Resort, including a live poker room complete with 10 tables and offering games of Limit Hold’em, No Limit Hold’em, Omaha (Limit and Pot Limit), and Omaha High/Lower Split 1/2 Kill. Visitors can also enjoy off-track betting, placing wagers on races taking place at Saratoga, Del Mar, Gulf Greyhounds, Louisiana Downs, Evangeline Downs and more.
In addition, there is a full sportsbook with plenty of television screens and 18 betting kiosks, and there is even a bingo hall with 312 seats and two sessions every day from Thursday through Sunday.
There are also frequent casino promotions, including competitions and tournaments, as well as a player loyalty scheme, the Advantage Club, which offers rewards such as cashback, comp cash, hotel rooms, free play offers and more.
A Complete Casino Resort
In between gaming sessions, visitors to the resort can choose from several dining options, including Cajun food with authentic Louisiana recipes, Asian restaurants, steakhouses, cafes, bars and more. There is truly something for every taste and budget.
The resort is also home to a live entertainment venue with regular concerts from international stars and other special events. Those who prefer something quieter may enjoy a round on the resort’s golf course.
While the groundbreaking ceremony on the new hotel may have only just taken place, there are still plenty of accommodation options including The Grand Hotel, Seven Clans Hotel, The Inn at Coushatta, and Red Shoes RV Park & Chalets. The addition of the new hotel will only broaden the options available to visitors, further cementing the new Coushatta Casino Resort as one of Louisiana’s premier destinations.
