While online baccarat can provide endless amounts of fun, sometimes it is fun to leave the house and visit a land casino, and if you’re lucky enough to be able to make it to Las Vegas, you could even catch a show at the same time.

Many of the biggest names in entertainment currently have residencies in Vegas. Some of these residencies run for an incredibly long time, but eventually, they all must come to an end. Acts such as Barry Manilow, the 1970’s superstar, at Westgate Las Vegas, Donny Osmond at Harrah’s Showroom, and Wayne Newton at the Flamingo’s Bugsy’s Cabaret have not announced an end date yet, but their shows won’t last forever.

Of course, not every Vegas show is a huge success. For example, the Broadway musical “Jersey Boys” premiered at the Palazzo Theatre at the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip in 2008. It moved to Paris, Las Vegas, in 2011 and closed in 2016. This musical, which narrates the story of the 1960s rock band Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, made a comeback this year at the 850-seat Showroom at The Orleans Hotel & Casino, off the Strip. Despite initial plans for a three-year run, the production failed to attract enough of an audience and closed on July 7.

Over the last year, a number of headliner Las Vegas residencies have also ended. Miranda Lambert’s “Velvet Rodeo” at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater concluded on April 6. Luke Bryan finished his residency at Resorts World Las Vegas on January 6, which had started in 2022. Superstar Katy Perry wrapped up her “Play” residency at the same venue on November 4, 2023, after performing 80 shows starting from December 2021.

Rod Stewart Brings 13-Year Residency to a Close

Rock legend Rod Stewart is set to end his “The Hits” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on August 7 with his 200th and final show. Since 2011, Stewart has provided an arena-sized concert experience in an intimate setting where no seat is more than 145 feet from the stage. His performances feature classic hits like “Maggie May”, “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy”, “Tonight’s the Night”, “Infatuation”, “You Wear It Well”, “The First Cut is the Deepest”, and “Every Picture Tells a Story”.

A two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, both as a solo artist and with the Faces, Stewart has sold over 250 million records worldwide. He has won three Grammy Awards and was knighted as Sir Roderick Stewart by Prince William at Buckingham Palace in 2016.

Speaking about the end of Stewart’s residency, Jason Gastwirth, the president of entertainment for Caesars Entertainment, said:

“Sir Rod Stewart is a true rock legend, and we have had the great privilege of being his Las Vegas home at The Colosseum for more than a decade. Throughout his residency, we’ve been amazed by Rod’s impeccable showmanship and superstar talent highlighting his timeless catalog of hits, and we are incredibly grateful for the countless memories he created for our guests.”

Vegas Residencies You Can Still Enjoy

While Rod Stewart may be departing Las Vegas, there are still plenty of big names to see over the coming months. For instance, from now until the end of the year Shania Twain is having her third residency. She will be performing her greatest hits at PH Live theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in what is set to be an unmissable show.

Those who want to experience Las Vegas’ newest venue, The Sphere, have the chance to do so and enjoy nonother than the Eagles from September 2024 to January 2025. The band will be bringing their greatest hits, such as “Hotel California”, “I Can’t Tell You Why”, and “Take It Easy” to the unique venue.

Other big names performing over the coming months include Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, Garth Brooks, Lionel Richie, The Killers, Santana, Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, and many more, so there is plenty to look forward to when you decide to take a break from the baccarat tables.
